John was a founding partner of Lidkea, Stob & Associates in 1979. He now has 41 years experience in all counselling modalities and has worked in hospitals, prisons, children agencies and in private practice. In 1981 John pioneered the beginnings of Employee and Family Assistance Programs in Niagara. He is past President of the Niagara Chapter of the Ontario Association of Social Workers, has served on the Provincial Board of Directors and has received the Distinguished Service Award from that organization. His current focus is on Business Consultation pertaining to harassment issues and intra-departmental conflict. On the personal side, John has been an active member of his Church and is an avid runner, having completed both the Chicago and New York Marathons. Most recently he has returned from climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. His guiding commitment through these years of counselling and community involvement has simply been to serve people in need.

Lorraine Arbuckle MSW, RSW has practiced as a social worker since 1993. She has worked with individuals, families and groups. Lorraine has worked in child protection, hospital and community mental health settings. She is experienced in working with a variety of mental health concerns, and emotional difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, stress, issues of loss and self esteem.

Kimberley Gunning, MSW, RSW has been a social worker since 1999. She lives and works in Niagara with her husband. Kimberley has worked with Ontario Brain Injury, YWCA, Family and Children’s Services, NewPort Centre Addiction Counselling and Ministry of Corrections all in the Niagara Region. Since 2006, Kimberley has worked as an associate with Lidkea, Stob & Associates in many of our Niagara offices. Kimberley has extensive training in dealing with persons with brain injuries, suicide intervention, addictions, family violence, employment issues, depression/anxiety, self-image issues, stress management and overall wellness. Kimberley has experience with individuals, families, couples and groups.

Linda Jeffries, MSW, RSW has over 20 years experience working in the social work field. She started her career in the mental health sector before moving on to Child Protection and Domestic Violence.  Linda has also been a keynote speaker on topics such as “Vicarious Trauma”, “Impact of Domestic Violence” and “Use of Self in a Therapeutic Setting”.

Linda has significant experience working with individuals impacted by; trauma, domestic violence, generalized anxiety, stress, loss/grief, relationships with self and others, separation/divorce issues, anger management, aging parents and workplace issues. She works from  a non-judgemental  Strengths Based/ Anti-Oppressive Perspective  dedicated to alleviating suffering and hardship for individuals utilizing a range of treatment modalities (i.e. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing , Mindfulness/Grounding, Solution Focused) tailored to each individual’s needs and circumstance.

Linda is also an active member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers serving as Secretary for the Niagara Branch Board and is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

Linda believes in the inherent possibility of change and individual strengths to achieve that which you desire in life!

Beth Snyder, Registered Social Worker

Counsellor Beth Snyder, BA, MA, RSW has been in practice for 25 years working with individuals, couples and families.
Beth believes that the client is the expert on themself and, in combination with her expertise on human behaviour and interpersonal dynamics, positive change can be created.
Beth takes a client-centred approach. Beth is respectful and promotes people making their own decisions and taking charge of their lives. Her goal is to help her clients achieve greater satisfaction in their lives regardless of what the presenting issue may be.
Beth uses a variety of modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and energy work (Reiki) and education.
Working with couples, the focus is often on communication enhancement, believing that if couples are able to talk, listen, negotiate and fight fairly, their relationship will improve.
Beth also provides encouragement and support to individuals going through separation or a loss of someone significant to them. Her approach honours the spirituality and uniqueness of the individual and she aims to provide attention to the whole person, body, mind and spirit.
Beth enjoys working out at the gym, swimming, cycling and walking her dog. She loves music, art and theatre. She is also a want-to-be knitter. Beth has four grandchildren through marriage and loves to spend time with family.

George has experience working with emotionally disturbed children, adolescents and their families. George works with individuals, couples and families. Before entering the world of counselling, Stefanie taught French to primary students at a Montessori school in Ottawa. She quickly realized after a couple of years of teaching that her passion to help went deeper than student’s academic success. Stefanie was more interested in the children’s emotional well-being, as well as the mental well-being of the adults who were raising them. Stefanie returned to University to complete a Masters of Education in Counselling. She worked at a Family Health Team in Ottawa providing counselling services to clients with a broad range of issues. Stefanie moved to Kingston with her husband and was hired on at a community counselling agency working with individuals and couples as well as women in abusive relationships. She has recently moved to St. Catharines and is currently counselling students at Brock University. Stefanie is passionate about working with clients experiencing low self-esteem, grief/loss, stress, depression/anxiety, stress, relationship issues and intimate partner violence.

Trish specializes in helping individuals obtain a distinct sense of relief
from what distresses them. Her strongest experience is with stress-related
issues that can manifest in uncomfortable states including Mood Disorders
(anxiety and depression) and Eating Disorders. She also works with those
dealing with grief, regret, low self-esteem, anger, and self-harm. Further,
she has a lot of experience with those who desire to “up their game” and
become stronger in all areas. Nurturing a new healthy relationship to self
will always be of primary focus. From there, the most effective connections
to the outside world (family, friends, occupation) will be supported.
Through use of cutting-edge processes such as Mindfulness, CBT, and Focus
Therapy (using principles of neurobiology & epigenetics), a new vantage
point of exhilarating possibilities will be supported. This reworking is done in a secure, caring environment.  Trish has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with a Psychology/Religious Studies. She is a Certified Meditation Instructor and a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (RP).
