Partners / Directors

John was a founding partner of Lidkea, Stob, Venema and Associates in 1979. He now has 37 years experience in all counselling modalities and has worked in hospitals, prisons, children agencies and in private practice. In 1981 John pioneered the beginnings of Employee and Family Assistance Programs in Niagara. He is past President of the Niagara Chapter of the Ontario Association of Social Workers, has served on the Provincial Board of Directors and has received the Distinguished Service Award from that organization. His current focus in on Business Consultation pertaining to harassment issues and intra-departmental conflict.

On the personal side, John has been an active member of his Church and is an avid runner, having completed both the Chicago and New York Marathons. Most recently he has returned from climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa.

Tom started with Lidkea, Stob, Venema & Associates Family Counselling on a part time basis in 1979. Tom became a full partner in 1981. Prior to joining Lidkea, Stob, Venema & Associates Counselling Services. Tom was employed in the areas of child adolescent and family services, as well as adult mental health services. Tom has significant experience, interest and training in all areas of relationships, (marital, individual and family), sexual abuse, depression, adolescence, stress and executive coaching. He has been a long time consultant to regional emergency services regarding critical incident response and treatment. He has been registered as a Clinical Social worker with Ontario Association of Social Workers for over 25 years. Tom has over 33 years of counselling experience.
